Primary Accountability
The Color Guard instructor coordinates the preparations, exercises, and activities of the marching member unity they are assigned to. The instructor prepares and directs the unit for independent performance and competition/show.

Principal Accountabilities
Represent Gates Chili Color Guard Parents, Inc.
- Collaborate with Executive and Creative Director to represent organization at local circuit (NECGC) and International circuit (WGI) depending on guard level working with.
- Provide timely updates to members and their families using the Remind App and/or Email
- Calendar of practices
- General announcements
- Provide weekly and/or monthly update to the Executive and Creative Directors
- Assist in member try-outs; Designates/coordinates the students into the various subgroups (e.g. majorette, flags).
- Prepares warm-up routines/practice exercises for the unit
- Choreographs, arranges, and implements color guard routine(s) with additional guard staff
- Other related duties, as assigned
- Prepare students for competitions and public appearances.

Position Requirements
|
- Experience working with school-aged students required (our members range from 8yo to 21yo)
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual
- Ability to work within pre-defined budget
- Promote teamwork and helps staff as needed to successfully accomplish delegated duties
- Sensitivity to characteristics and needs of all children
- Ability to manage equipment/materials
- Ability to implement policy and regulations
- Excellent administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent people management skills
