Kelly Barnard
Kelly Barnard

IA Lead Instructor

Kelly is happy to return to the organization for the 2024-2025 Winter season as Creative Director, and excited to take on a new role as the lead instructor of the IA program.

Kelly has been spinning since 2005, finishing her time as a marching member of Gates Chili in 2007 before moving on to the Patriots winterguard for 4 seasons. She also spent 2 seasons with the Rochester Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, and several years performing with the Patriots dance ensemble.

As Creative Director, she is looking forward to continuing to work with the amazing instructional staff to create a fun and safe space for all members.

Stepping into the position of lead instructor of the IA program, she is eager to provide members with a unique and challenging experience this upcoming season as the organization continues to grow within the greater WGI community.

Aside from the Gates Independent winterguards, Kelly has also worked with the East Irondequoit Lancer Marching band, the Patriots RA and cadet winterguards, and is currently colorguard director for the Gates Chili school district marching band.

Kelly is a Scorpio vegetarian and when she’s not teaching twirls you can find her drinking coffee or gardening with her husband and their zoo.

Kyle Regan
Kyle Regan

Kyle is excited to return for his 7th season with the Gates Chili Organization, previously serving on the instructional staff for the RA (2018, 2024), A1 (2019), and IA (2020-2022) programs.

Kyle has been a member of various performance ensembles including Greece Marching Band, Greece Winter Guard, Patriots Winter Guard, SUNY Plattsburgh Dance Corps, White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps, and Gates Chili Winter Guard.

Being able to share his passion for the activity, watching confidence grow in individuals, and teaching the life lessons you learn through being a member on a team are some of the reasons Kyle continues to be active in the activity as an instructor. Kyle has been fortunate enough to teach with several organizations such as Patriots Too Winterguard, Leroy marching band, Eastridge Marching Band, and Gates Chili Marching Band.

Outside of colorguard, Kyle is a Physical Therapist Assistant working in a skilled nursing facility. He enjoys working in an interdisciplinary team (including other Gates Chili staff member Hannah Martin, OTR/L) providing a spectrum of skilled care to increase a patient's or resident's independence with functional mobility. Kyle is also happily married and has two rambunctious cats named Romeo and Max.

Madison Miller
Madison Miller

Madison Miller is incredibly excited to return to the Gates Chili organization for the 2024-2025 Winterguard season as an instructor working with the IA program.

A competitive and passionate instructor who has been sharing her love for the activity since 2016, her personal marching career began in 2005 with the Greece Marching Band, first playing the flute/piccolo and later joining the colorguard to finish out her high school career. After high school, she continued marching with Empire Statesmen Drum & Bugle Corps (2012), White Sabres Drum & Bugle Corps (2017), Patriots Winterguard (2013-2017), and Gates Independent Winterguard (2018). Additionally, she has taught with the Greece Marching Band Blue Knights, Le Roy Marching Knights, and Gates Independent Winterguard.

When Maddie isn’t teaching or working, she’s at home most likely drinking coffee and playing with her crazy Husky, Kailani Mae, and cat, Pumbaa.
