Gates Chili Independent Winterguard is a local non-profit organization, established in 2001. Our members range in age from 8 to 22.
The winterguard program is designed to promote and encourage the ability of musical and performing young artists; to educate young people in their musical, dance, dramatic and other performing skills; and to stimulate the acceptance of color guards as a performance art.
The Gates Chili Winterguard is the 2006 Winterguard International (WGI) Scholastic A Class Gold Medalists, and is well known and respected due to its reputation of excellence which has developed over many years. More recently, our Independent A Guard was a WGI finalist in the 2023 & 2019 seasons.

Board Members
We have an Executive Director, Business Director & Creative Director that run the daily operations of the program management of the staff. Our current instructional staff consists of a lead instructor and two technical instructors per guard.
In the 2023-2024 season we will be fielding three performing guards. Our guard levels and numbers are based on the number of spinning members and their skill level.
